Operative Torque Analysis to Evaluate Cutting Efficiency of Two Nickel-Titanium Rotary Instruments for Glide Path: An In Vitro Comparison

چکیده
Aim and objective The aim of this study was to evaluate compare the cutting efficacy two different nickel titanium rotary instruments by a novel methodology: operative torque (torque time needed progress toward apex). Materials methods Ten fresh extracted upper first premolars with canals were instrumented KaVo (Biberach, Germany) 1:1 handpiece at 300 rpm maximum set 2 N. One canal ProGlider NiTi (Dentsply Sirona Endodontics, Ballaigues, Switzerland), tip size 16.02, other one EgdeGlidePath instrument (EdgeEndo, Albuquerque, New Mexico). Mean instrumentation time, mean values, values evaluated for each instrument. significance level p Results EdgeGlidePath reached working length in significantly less smaller amount when compared (p >0.05). No exhibited flute deformation or underwent intracanal failure. Conclusions Operative is related capability cut dentin apex: higher ability (and safety). also dependent on debris removal irrigation techniques. Nevertheless, both are clinically relevant parameters evaluating instruments' performance (i.e., ability). Clinical during endodontic helps understanding overall terms efficiency safety.

Use of nickel-titanium rotary PathFile to create the glide path: comparison with manual preflaring in simulated root canals.
The study compared changes to canal curvature and incidence of canal aberrations after preflaring with hand K-files or with nickel-titanium rotary PathFile in S-shape Endo Training Blocks. The influence of the operator's expertise was also investigated. One hundred training blocks were colored with ink, and preinstrumentation images were acquired digitally. Preflaring was performed by an endodo...
متن کاملPathFiles: A New Rotary Nickel-Titanium Instrument for Mechanical Glide Path and Preflaring
NiTi instrument separation is a serious concern in endodontic therapy. The analysis of NiTi files after torsional fracture reveals that the majority of torsional separations occur in the last mm. of the files and in the files with lower taper and/ or diameter. Consequentely, the tip of the smaller files presents the higher risk of torsional fracture and should be protected using low torque moto...

متن کاملAn in vitro assessment of the physical properties of novel Hyflex nickel-titanium rotary instruments.
AIM To determine several properties including torsional and fatigue limits, as well as torque during canal preparation, of Hyflex, a rotary instrument manufactured from so-called controlled memory nickel-titanium alloy. METHODOLOGY The instruments were tested in vitro using a special torque bench that permits both stationary torque tests according to ISO3630-1 and fatigue limit determination,...
متن کاملA cleaning protocol for rotary nickel-titanium endodontic instruments.
BACKGROUND The cleaning of endodontic and all dental instruments prior to sterilization is a prerequisite for their processing for re-use. This study aimed to develop a clinically practical cleaning protocol for rotary nickel-titanium (NiTi) endodontic files prior to sterilization. METHODS Cleaning experiments were conducted on six different types of files that had been used on human teeth. T...
